ERA’s first achievement was winning the first Malaysian Indian Dance Competition, Aatam 100 Vagai in 2005, organized by Astro Vaanavil. ERA was engraved in the hearts and minds of the Indian community in Malaysia. In 2006, ERA did it again! We carried home the Champion title in the Aatam 100 Vagai competition held at Pisa Stadium in Penang, under the group named New Wavers.There was no turning back for ERA. In 2007, we sent 2 groups; E’Xtreme & Ne’Wera to the same competition and proudly walked home as top winners, yet again. Continuous winnings had put ERA on the top list of Indian Dance Performers in Malaysia. Soon, ERA was honoured to represent Malaysia in the Malaysian First International Indian Dance Competition, competing against giants from India, Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Singapore. As you expected, we won again. This time Ne’Wera secured second prize and was conferred the titled as the Most Popular Dance Group.
Today, ERA has carved a niche for its name and has had many accomplishments, working with various national television (TV1, TV2, TV3, NTV7) and private television (Astro).ERA’s humble beginning in 2003 was to perform at the Astro’s Paadal Thiran Potti (Singing) competition in Arena of Starts, Genting Highlands and continued performing different genre dances till 2008. ERA was also invited to perform in the Avatharam Arambam competition for Astro from 2007 – 2008, Deepavali Astro Galatta Dance show in 2004 and Konsert Deepavali for TV2 in 2004 and subsequently in 2008.
Among other credits of ERA includes performed a dance for a local telemovie “Eventhanda Hero” directed by Mr.Gana, Celcom’s Deepavali song album “Deepa Ragaa” in year 2009 and also in THR Raaga Award 2010, held in Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. The journey continued by performed in Kollywood’s movie audio launch named ‘Enthiran’ which was held in Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), Putrajaya. The launch was attended by Oscar winner for Music Director Maestro AR Rahman, Kollywood Superstar Rajinikant & Miss World Aishwarya Rai Batchan.
ERA dancers has dancing experience with popular actors and actress from India. Where, always prove that our dancers are trained well and has the real performers attitude in them at all the time.
ERA’s recent pride and glory was when we represented Malaysia in a friendly competition with neighbouring Singapore in Dhool vs Attam 2011 dance competition in Singapore and soared as the Champion!
Over the years, ERA had also taken part in various charity shows to raise funds for temples and charities. ERA’s commitment towards creative performances, glittery costumes & eye catching dance moves in every performance continued to capture the hearts of its ardent fans in Malaysia. ERA has travelled all over Malaysia, spreading its love and dedication to dance, music and art.
Furthermore, ERA began to spread dance techniques that have been used over the years to children from age 3 until 12 years old in their specific classes. The achievement has been achieved is managed to maintain its position to the final round in the competition JUNIOUR YUTHAM MEDAI (Indian Kids Dance Competition 2012 which conducted by local televisions Astro. ERA did not give-up and with full enthusiasm to send representatives to the same competition and proudly walked home as 1st runner-up in Year 2014.
